LibAgent's Record Expiry Rules

We have changed the database expiration rules to make it easier for users. Previously, a user had to choose how long they want their registration to last (up to 12 months in the future). When that time arrived, the user received a warning email a week before the expiration, and had a chance to visit the site and renew the registration.

Conversely, the new scheme makes it un-necessary for users to renew their registration manually. Records of active users are kept in the database without need for any user action - possibly for years.

Only when a user has no books loaned out for six consecutive months is the record expired. When this happens, a warning e-mail is sent as before. The user then has a chance to renew the subscription manually by going to the site and visiting the "preferences" page. You don't need to change anything in the preferences - it's enough to simply visit the page and hit the "I agree" button.
